Arrest of Nicaraguan citizen involved in FIFA corruption confirmed

Among the seven FIFA executives arrested for alleged corruption is Development Office employee, Nicaraguan Julio Rocha, confirmed a sports source this Wednesday.
Nicaraguan Football Federation (FENIFUT) spokesperson, Moises Avalos, said they distance themselves from any kind of link to the FIFA scandal, which led to the arrest of 14 renowned world leaders this Wednesday's early morning in Zurich.
Rocha, more than 60 years old, was head of FENIFUT for nearly 25 years, abandoning office in December of 2012, when he went on to the FIFA Development Office for Mexico, Central America, Dominican Repubic, Cuba, and Puerto Rico.
He was also president of the Central American Union of Football (Uncaf).
Among other arrested officials are FIFA Uruguayan vice-president Eugenio Figueredo, Paraguayan executive member of CONMEBOL Rafael Esquivel, and member of the FIFA Organization of the Olympic Games, Brazilian Jose Marin. Endit
