Albania, Serbia try to mend ties

Xinhua, May 28, 2015 Adjust font size:

Prime Minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, paid official visit to Albania on Wednesday, where he was received by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama.

In a joint press conference after the meeting, Rama and Vucic said that despite their differences it is important for Serbia and Albania to cooperate for infrastructure projects.

Rama said that Albanian government is firmly committed to advance the agenda of a borderless region, where barriers inherited for years between Albanians and Serbs should be removed.

Vucic said both countries would apply for EU funding to build sections of a motorway linking Nish of Serbia with Durres in Albania.

The two discussed increasing bilateral trade and investment, cooperation in energy and tourism and recognizing each other's university diplomas. Endit
