Lithuania president discusses bilateral cooperation with visiting U.S. senator

Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite's meeting here with U.S. senator Richard Durbin on Tuesday focused on Lithuanian-U.S. cooperation in the fields of security and energy, as well as bilateral economic ties and possibilities to strengthen them, according to a statement.

Richard Durbin is of Lithuanian descent. He is a member of the Senate's committees on appropriations, judiciary, and administration as well as the defense subcommittee.

Geopolitical issues, such as security situation in the Baltic region and Ukraine were also discussed.

Durbin also met with Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius and discussed bilateral cooperation between the two countries. Endit
