Singapore stocks close almost flat

Singapore stocks finished slightly lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 0.87 points, or 0.03 percent, to close at 3,459.98.

A total of 1.68 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 824.8 million Singapore dollars (620.2 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 262 to 218, while 475 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 10.67 points, or 0.31 percent, to close at 3,460.85 on Monday. Endi
