Six countries to attend Track Cycling Cup in Cuba

Xinhua, May 26, 2015 Adjust font size:

Athletes from six countries were confirmed to participate at the Track Cycling Cup Cuba 2015, said Hector Ruiz, president of the Cuban cycling federation.

The event will be staged on May 27-30 in the velodrome Reinaldo Paseiro, in Havana, featuring competitors from Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, and the host.

The hosts will be represented by cyclists already classified for the Pan American Games in Toronto, namely Marlies Mejias, Yumari Gonzalez, Arlenis Sierra, Yoanka Gonzalez, Yeima Torres and the rookie Anel Enjamio.

Ruiz complained of the absence of Cuba's best cyclist Lisandra Guerra, who is training and competing in Germany until June 26.

Cuba will participate in all the events of the cup, said the official.

The Track Cycling Cup is part of the calendar of the International Cyclist Union (UCI) and grants points for the world season and championships. Endi
