A 60-member troupe of artists from China's Fujian province performed a variety of traditional dances here Monday night, aiming to promote cultural relations between the two countries.

Song Kening, director general of the Foreign Affairs Office of Fujian Provincial People's Government, Cambodian Princess Norodom Bopha Devi, and Cambodian Minister of Culture and Fine Arts Phoeurng Sackona were among more than 1,000 spectators who viewed the two-hour show at the Diamond Island Grand Theatre.

Huang Qinghui, vice-mayor of Fujian province's Zhangzhou city, said the show was to further enhance cultural ties and people-to- people relations between the two countries. "I believe that through the show, the Cambodian audience will learn more about the Chinese culture and tradition," he said, adding that the famed Fujian puppetry was also performed at the event.

Each of the performances had drawn hearty rounds of applause from the audience. Endi
