Cross-Strait affairs chiefs meet in Kinmen

Xinhua, May 23, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Chinese mainland's Taiwan affairs chief, Zhang Zhijun, held a formal meeting with Taiwan's mainland affairs chief Andrew Hsia in the island's Kinmen County on Saturday.

Zhang, director of the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, arrived in Kinmen earlier on Saturday for a two-day visit.

During his visit, Zhang will also meet with Kinmen's county head and talk to people from all walks of life to learn about their opinions of cross-Strait exchanges.

Chiefs of cross-Strait affairs realized mutual visits last year and opened a regular communication channel between their departments amid warming cross-Strait ties. In a major breakthrough, Zhang made his long-awaited trip to Taiwan in June last year as the first Taiwan affairs chief from the mainland to do so in 65 years. Endi
