Leverkusen's Stefan Reinartz joins Frankfurt

Leverkusen midfielder Stefan Reinartz joins league rivals Eintracht Frankfurt, both Bundesliga clubs confirmed on Friday.

The 26-year-old defensive midfielder played 16 years for the " Werkself" and will reinforce the "Eagles" for the upcoming season, as he inked a two-year deal until June 2017.

"We are delighted that Stefan has decided to join Eintracht Frankfurt. I am sure that such a quality player with his experience, can give our team an important impetus," Frankfurt's sporting director Bruno Huebner told the club's official homepage.

Reinartz knows the Bundesliga business as he made overall 147 appearances, providing eleven goals and ten assists. He made besides that three caps for Germany's national soccer team.

"Stefan Reinartz qualities will strengthen our midfield," Frankfurt coach Thomas Schaaf said.

The "Eagles" sit in on the 11th place of the table meanwhile Leverkusen occupy the 4th place, an UEFA Champions League play off spot. Endite
