Two protesters were shot dead by police and 11 others seriously injured on Thursday in separate incidents in the Burundian capital Bujumbura during protests against the third term bid of President Pierre Nkurunziza, witnesses and the Red Cross said.
"Our rescue teams counted two dead persons in Musaga and in Ngagara neighborhoods and evacuated 11 seriously injured others to hospital," said Burundi Red Cross Spokesman Alexis Manirakiza. (Burundi-Protest)

RIGA -- Leaders of the European Union and Eastern Partnership countries gathered in Riga on Thursday for the 4th Eastern Partnership Summit.
The two-day summit, hosted by Latvia that is the current EU presidency, intended to bring the EU's relations with its Eastern neighbors to a new level. WASHINGTON -- Six police officers have been indicted in the death of Freddie Gray, Baltimore City State Attorney Marilyn Mosby told a news conference Thursday.

DAMASCUS -- The Islamic State (IS) militants seized control of the last border point between Syria and Iraq on Thursday, as part of the recent progress the terror group has been making in both countries, a monitor group reported.
The IS terror group has become in control of the Syrian side of the al-Tanf, also known as al-Walid, border-crossing between the Syrian desert and Iraq, following the withdrawal of the Syrian forces from that border point, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. (Syria-IS)
