Germany's benchmark DAX index little changed

The benchmark DAX index at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Thursday advanced slightly by 16.12 points and closed at 11,864.59 points.

The economic data in the eurozone are lackluster and investors are looking for fresh incentives that contributed to the uncertainty on the market, according to local analysts.

Merck KGaA, a pharmaceutical, chemical and life science company, topped the list of risers with an increase of 1.37 percent. Deutsche Post AG added 0.99 percent.

HeidelbergCement AG rose by 0.9 percent. Fresenius Medical Care AG & Co. advanced by 0.79 percent. The utilities company RWE AG St went up by 0.58 percent.

The company software giant SAP SE slipped by 1.29 percent. BMW AG St lost 1.03 percent. Volkswagen AG Vz dropped by 0.9 percent. Deutsche Lufthansa AG slid by 0.89 percent. Commerzbank AG went down by 0.83 percent.

The turnover stood at 2.95 billion euros (around 3.28 billion U.S. dollars ). Deutsche Telekom AG was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 254.65 million euros (around 283.11 million U.S. dollars). Endit
