S China rivers exceed warning levels
Xinhua, May 21, 2015 Adjust font size:
The water level in 28 rivers in south China has exceeded warning levels as heavy rain has battered the region since Monday, the National Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters said on Thursday.
These rivers are mainly in the provinces of Guangdong, Hunan, Jiangxi and Fujian, and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
The water levels of most of the rivers have been brought down thanks to timely responses from local governments, the headquarters said. Guangdong is still bracing for the coming flood peak in its Beijiang River, a tributary of the Pearl River. Endi
