Juventus wins Italian Cup to stay on track for treble

Xinhua, May 21, 2015 Adjust font size:

Juventus added the Italian Cup title to its Serie A championship with a 2-1 win over Lazio in extra time Wednesday.

Substitute Alessandro Matri scored from the center of the area in the 97th minute with a shot that Lazio goalkeeper Etrit Berisha should have saved.

Stefan Radu headed in for Lazio following a free kick from Danilo Cataldi on the right flank four minutes after the kick-off.

Giorgio Chiellini equalized in the 11th minute after Patrice Evra redirected a free kick from Andrea Pirlo toward him at the edge of the box.

The Bianconeri will achieve the treble of titles if they beat Barcelona in the Champions League final in Berlin on June 6.

It was Juve's 10th Italian Cup title, also first since 1995. Endi
