People gathered at the Chinese embassy in Sierra Leone capital Freetown to express their sincere thanks for China's helping Sierra Leone fight against Ebola.

"China helped us a lot," said Mariatu Kargbo, a Sierra Leonean star when she was parading to the embassy with more than one hundred members from the Street Life Family Organization (SLFO).

The Chinese Ambassador, Zhao Yanbo extended his warm welcome to the Sierra Leoneans and indicated that as the best friend of Sierra Leone, China took the lead in responding to Sierra Leone's appeal for support in the fight against Ebola.

"As of now, China has provided 5 batches of emergency assistance to Sierra Leone and sent 12 chartered airplanes and more than 400 medical and training personnel to the country. Currently, there are still about 60 Chinese doctors and medical experts on the ground working at the Ebola treatment and holding center and China-aided fixed lab at Jui," said Zhao.

Reminding the Sierra Leone people that Ebola disease in the country "is coming to the end", Zhao also pointed out that there is no room for complacency. He advised all Sierra Leoneans to always wash their hands and cooperate actively with the Sierra Leonean government to bring Ebola to the end at an early date.

On behalf of the Sierra Leonean people, Mariatu Kargbo and Alhaji Koroma, CEO of SLFO, expressed their appreciation for China's contribution not only in the fight against Ebola but also in many other areas of socio-economic development.

They indicated that they will always remember what China has done for Sierra Leone and promised to commit themselves to promoting the Sierra Leone-China friendship.

Members of SLFO, dressed in T-shirts printed with the slogan of "Thank You China for Supporting Sierra Leone for the Fight against Ebola", cheered "Thank You, China! I Love You, China!" in Chinese to express their heartfelt appreciation to China and their best wishes to the friendship between the two countries.

Miss Mariatu Kargbo handed over to Ambassador Zhao two gifts, which contained a painting of Chinese medical workers taking care of Ebola patients and a wood-carved lion head symbolizing the strength of Sierra Leone with letters "Thank You, China" on it. Endi
