Vietnam to compete in 28 sports at SEA Games

Vietnam will compete in 28 out of 36 sports at the upcoming 28th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, according to the Vietnam General Department of Sports and Physical Training on Wednesday.

As many as 392 Vietnamese atheletes will take part in 268 events at the biennial games, which will be held in Singapore from June 5 to 16, the department said on its website.

The country eyes gold medals in 18 sports, with highest hopes pinned on athletics.

At the previous SEA Games held in Myanmar in 2013, Vietnam won 74 gold, 85 silver and 86 bronze medals to rank the third place. Endi
