Chinese premier stresses employment through entrepreneurship

Xinhua, May 19, 2015 Adjust font size:

China will continue encouraging entrepreneurship, and boosting the growth in the service and start-up sectors, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said on Tuesday.

Employment is the foundation of quality of life. Despite economic pressure, employment has risen, the Premier said during a teleconference on employment and entrepreneurship.

New chances and challenges can ensure stable employment as the economy has shifted to the "new normal," he said.

China will introduce more active employment policies and care for groups like college graduates and those with difficulties finding jobs, he said.

The country will continue to streamline administration and delegate powers to lower level governments, build better platforms for entrepreneurship, and produce more opportunities with the help of market, he said.

More effort will be made to ensure stable growth, boost entrepreneurship and innovation, improve social security, step up vocational training and boost public services.

Employment of college graduates will be highlighted. Endi
