1st LD: Bicycle bomb wounds 4 police in S. Afghanistan

Four policemen were injured as a bicycle bomb went off in Uruzgan provincial capital Trinkot city 370 km south of Kabul on Tuesday, spokesman for the provincial government Dost Mohammad Nayab said.

"Terrorists planted explosive device into the cavities of a bicycle and detonated it next to a police checkpoint in Trinkot city at 11:30 a.m. local time (0700 GMT) injuring four police personnel, according to our preliminary reports," Nayab told Xinhua.

He also blamed the attack on Taliban militants. However the armed outfit which is largely relying on suicide and roadside bombings has yet to claim responsibility for the blast. Endi
