Troops hold int'l military drill in Jordan

Troops from Jordan, the United States and Italy conducted military maneuvers on Monday in southern Jordan as part of an international military drill.

The drill included counter attacks and seizing military posts on border areas. F-16 fighter jets, missile launchers and B-52 bombers were used in the drill. Snipers, tanks, Apache and Cobra attack helicopters also appeared in the drill, according to Mohammad Jaradat, head of the military training at the Jordan Armed Forces.

In Aqaba, forces from the U.S., France, Belgium and Pakistan conducted a counter terrorism military drill, which included dealing with pirates and landing missions.

The 2015 "Eager Lion" military drill, which will conclude on Tuesday, involved about 10,000 soldiers from 18 countries. Endit
