South Africa has repatriated a total of 5,645 foreigners since the end of xenophobia attacks in late April, the government said Sunday.

These foreigners chose to leave South Africa voluntarily, Minister in the Presidency Jeff Radebe said.

Malawians made up the bulk of these repatriated foreigners, numbering 3,506, to be followed by Mozambicans (682), Zimbabweans (1,440) and Tanzanians(17), the minister said in a statement. (South Africa-Repatriation)

KABUL -- At least five people including two civilians were killed and 21 others, all civilians, sustained injuries as a suicide car bomb rocked the Afghan capital city Kabul and a roadside bomb struck police van in the eastern Ghazni province on Sunday, officials said.

NAHA, Japan -- About 35,000 protesters across Japan gathered together on Sunday in Naha, the capital city of Japan's southernmost island prefecture of Okinawa, urging the Japanese central government to abort a plan to set up a new military base for the United States in Henoko area and to immediately shut down the controversial U.S. Futenma airbase in the prefecture's Ginowan city. ADEN, Yemen -- Intense fighting in Yemen's southern province of Taiz killed at least 20 people on Sunday, the last day of humanitarian ceasefire announced by the Saudi-led coalition forces that aimed to deliver aids to Yemeni people.
