Italian cyclist Giorgia Bronzini of Wiggle Honda won the Tour of Chongming Island World Cup 2015 here on Sunday.
The 125-kilometer race saw Bronzini clock the winning time of three hours, nine minutes and 45 seconds to out-sprint Dutch Kirsten Wild of Hitec Products and French Fanny Riberot of the French national team.
"It's difficult to finish the whole race, especially during the course of climbing," said Bronzini.
Wild, who just won the Tour of Chongming Island stage race on Friday, sat in second in the World Cup. "Other riders are good today, and I just rode for my team and our own plan," said Wild.
Bai Yue of China Chongming-Liv-Champion System Pro Cycling placed 13th, the best result among Chinese riders.
Of 18 teams, Bigla Pro Cycling Team led the team classification, beating Wiggle Honda to second and Hitec Products to third.
The Tour of Chongming Island World Cup is the fifth round of the 10-race UCI Women's Road World Cup series. It is the only elite women's World Cup road race held in Asia. Endit
