Slovakia, Switzerland to host 2019 and 2020 Championship

The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) decided on Friday at its congress in Prague that the World Ice Hockey Championship in 2019 will be held in Slovakia, and the 2020 event will be held in Switzerland. Both of the countries were the only candidates for the event.

The 2019 championship in Slovakia will be held in the capital of Bratislava and in Kosice, east Slovakia, the same as four years ago. Switzerland will host the event in Zurich and Lausanne.

2015 World Ice Hockey Championship started in Prague on May 1 and ends on May 17. The following ice hockey world championships will be held in Russia (2016), France and Germany (2017) and Denmark (2018). Endite
