LME base metal prices close lower mostly

The base metal prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME) closed lower mostly on Thursday.

Nickel fell on Thursday on concern about excess supply after inventories increased. The slump of nickel price in Shanghai futures also weighed on LME nickel price.

But copper rose as the U.S. dollar index went weaker on Thursday.

The three-month unofficial copper price increased 14 U.S. dollars, or 0.22 percent, to 6,406 U.S. dollars per tonne.

The three-month unofficial aluminium price lost 19 U.S. dollars, or 1.00 percent, to 1,872 U.S. dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial lead price lost 25 U.S. dollars, or 1.24 percent, to 1,997 U.S. dollars a tonne.

Besides, the three-month unofficial zinc price lost 21 U.S. dollars, or 0.90 percent, to 2,316 U.S. dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial nickel price lost 275 U.S. dollars, or 1.95 percent, to 13,850 U.S. dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial tin price lost 200 U.S. dollars, or 1.26 percent, to 15,675 U.S. dollars a tonne. Endit
