Backgrounder: Lineup of main competition of 68th Cannes Film Festival

The main competition section of the 68th Festival de Cannes (Cannes Film Festival) opened Thursday morning with the screening of Italian movie Il Racconto Dei Racconti directed by Matteo Garrone, in the southern French sea resort of Cannes.

A total of 19 films are competing for the top prize of the festival Palme d'Or. The following is the lineup of the Official Selection for the main competition for Palme d'Or

The opening film was LA TETE HAUTE (STANDING TALL) directed by French actress Emmanuelle Bercot, and the closing film will be LA GLACE ET LE CIEL (ICE AND THE SKY) directed by French director Luc Jacquet.

The 68th Festival de Cannes runs from May 13 to 24, and all winners of all the prizes will be announced at an awarding ceremony on May 24. Enditem
