China's culture-related public services increase

Cultural services in China, such as libraries and museums, are on the rise, a report released by the Ministry of Culture (MOC) said on Thursday.

According the report's 2014 statistics, there were 3,117 public libraries across the county, five more than the year before, and 8,769 art troupes nationwide, 589 more than the year before.

They performed and exhibited a total of 1.73 million times throughout the year, an increase of 5.3 percent year on year, attracting 910.2 million visitors throughout 2014, a rise of 1.1 percent.

China also had 8,418 institutions dedicated to cultural relics, 681 more than the year before, and a collection of 40.63 million relics, about 2.22 million more than the year before.

These institutions received 842.5 million visits, 12.8 percent higher than the year before. Endi
