Gambia confirmed new national coach

Gambia Football Federation has confirmed the appointment of new national coach, according to Federation officials on Tuesday

"Yes Mr Raoul Savoy has been confirmed as Gambia national team head coach, he is a Swiss national and he has arrived on board Brussels Airlines in the ealy hours of Tuesday morning", according to the a senior staff at the Gambia Football Federation.

The coach is expected to be unveiled to the nation later this week to take charge of the Scorpions who are embarking on yet another attempt to qualify for the African Nations Cup.

The Gambia Football Federation confirmed Sunday that Savoy was among the three shortlisted but were economical with the details surrounding his appointment until the 'right time comes'.

Gambia will play its international official matches soon, after the lifting of the global ban on the country last year.

Raoul Savoy (born 18 May 1973) is a Swiss football coach. He was the head coach of FC Sion (until June 2014). His recent job was as head coach of the senior national team of the Central African Republic. Enditem
