Tokyo shares erased losses in the morning and rebounded higher by ending the trading Wednesday as sentiment here was boost by optimism over the Japanese economy and domestic earnings.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average rebounded 139.88 points, or 0.71 percent, higher from Tuesday at 19,764.72.
The turnover was about 2,921.3 billion yen (about 24.36 billion U.S. dollars).

BEIJING -- Chinese shares closed mixed on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down by 0.58 percent to finish at 4,375.76 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.71 percent to close at 15, 173.09 points.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, shed 1.79 percent to end at 3,192.15 points.

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong stocks closed down 157.90 points, or 0. 58 percent to 27,249.28 points on Wednesday.

HONG KONG -- Taiwan's share prices closed up 0.44 percent on Wednesday with the weighted index up 43.38 points at 9,724.11, according to news reaching here from Taipei.
