Singapore stocks close 0.31 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 10. 84 points, or 0.31 percent, to close at 3,453.17.

A total of 1.28 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 993.7 million Singapore dollars (746.68 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 219 to 192, while 539 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 28.47 points, or 0.82 percent, to close at 3,442.33 on Tuesday. Endi
