The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government Wednesday proposed to designate September 3, 2015 on a one-off basis as a special holiday to facilitate community participation in various commemorative activities to mark the 70th anniversary day of the victory of the Chinese people's war of resistance against Japanese aggression.

A government spokesman said that September 3, 2015 is the 70th anniversary day of the victory of the Chinese people's war of resistance against Japanese aggression. The HKSAR government will organize various commemorative activities.
