At least two people were killed and three others wounded in a shooting rampage that happened in a South Korean reserve forces training center, the Army said Wednesday.

A reservist, identified only by his surname Choi, shot blindly at his colleague reserve forces on the right side with a K-2 rifle at about 10:37 a.m. local time (0137 GMT).

The shooting spree occurred at a military training camp for reservists in Naegok-dong, the southern part of Seoul.

Choi, who was given a total of 10 bullets, randomly fired seven shots after one zeroing fire at a target in his front. Then, the 24-year-old committed suicide with his rifle.

Four men in their early and mid-20s were injured. Among them, one died after being taken to a nearby hospital. He was shot on his head.

Another man was in serious conditions as he arrived at a hospital under the cardiac arrest. The other two people are sustaining non-life threatening injuries.

During his military service, Choi was categorized as a Class-B soldier who requires the second-highest attentions for difficulty in adapting to a military life. He was treated for depression in the past.

The exact cause of the incident hasn't been known yet. The Army said it is investigating into the incident.

It marked the first time in South Korea that a reservist intentionally shot at colleagues with a rifle while receiving trainings for reserve forces.
