Myanmar expects 17 rowing golds in 28th SEA Games

Myanmar national rowing team is expecting to win 17 out of 43 gold medals in the 28th Southeast Asian Games to be hosted by Singapore this year, sports circle sources said on Wednesday. ( The 87-member Myanmar rowing team will compete in all 43 categories of three rowing events -- traditional, international and canoe/kayak.

Altogether 28 rowers will compete in traditional boat racing while 19 in canoe/Kayak and 40 in international boat race.

In 2014, Myanmar grabbed eight gold, five silver and four bronze medals in canoe/kayak competition held in Singapore.

Meanwhile, the international boat racing team won two gold, three silver and one bronze medals in Asian Cup International Boat Racing in Singapore in March this year.

At present, the traditional boat racing team is under intensive training of local coach ahead of the SEA Games. Endi
