China on Tuesday granted Georgia with modern special equipments and electro-mechanical appliances to facilitate Georgia's agricultural development.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili attended the donation ceremony.

"These equipments and appliances from China will help us carry out rehabilitation efforts in a quicker and more efficient way. In addition, an agreement on a Chinese-Georgian cooperation project has been signed, under which more than 30 greenhouses will be built in Georgia," said Gharibashvili at the ceremony. He also emphasized the historic significance of China's Silk Road Economic Belt plan, saying the plan will make it possible for Georgia to perform again its historical function as the shortest bridge between Asia and Europe.

"Restoration of the historical Silk Road is a new incentive that will unite countries from Europe to Asia into one single trade system. The Silk Road creates opportunities not only for our country, but also for many Asian and European countries," said the prime minister.
