Typhoon Noul, which left the Philippines Tuesday morning, has destroyed crops and infrastructure amounting to about 347,000 U.S. dollars, the state disaster management agency said.
Damage to infrastructure was pegged at 286,000 U.S. dollars, mainly in the provinces of Ilocos Sur and Cagayan, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said. ( Philippines-Typhoon-Loss)

KATHMANDU -- A total of 37 people have been confirmed dead on Tuesday's powerful quake that jolted Nepal, the Home Ministry said in its latest update.
In a press release this evening, the Home Ministry said 37 people have been confirmed dead in different districts, including Dolakha district, where 19 deaths were reported. Another 1,129 people have sustained injuries, who are undergoing treatment in different hospitals, it added. (Nepal-New Quake)

TOKYO -- Japanese central government officials on Tuesday welcomed news from the Pentagon that the U.S. military will deploy CV-22 Osprey transport aircraft at the Yokota Air Base in Tokyo in 2017 as the use of the aircraft continues to expand here, while local officials voiced concern.
The U.S. military said it plans to send three of the tilt-rotor planes to the Yokota base, located in a suburb of Tokyo, in the second half of 2017, adding that seven more will be deployed by 2021. (Japan-U.S.-Osprey Aircraft)

CANBERRA -- Australian federal Treasurer Joe Hockey unveiled on Tuesday evening the government's budget for year 2015-16, predicting a budget deficit of 35 billion AU dollars (27 billion U. S. dollars) this year.
