Spanish police on Tuesday arrested two people in Barcelona for allegedly spreading content which they had taken directly from official websites of the Islamic State (IS).
The Spanish Interior Ministry confirmed the arrests took place in the Cornella region in the city's south end. The detainees were also believed to have been producing and publishing their own material in support of IS, the ministry said.
This was the latest in a series of operations against those spreading jihadist propaganda in the Catalan region of the country and followed the arrest of 11 people on April 8.
Five Spaniards, five Moroccans, and a Paraguayan were accused of forming part of a recruitment network, attracting recruits for IS, and then sending them to fight in Syria and Iraq.
Meanwhile, March 31 saw four people, a married couple and their twin 16 year-old sons, detained when the boys were on the verge of travelling to Syria.
The mother, who had already lost an elder son in the Syrian conflict, was detained, but her husband was later released from custody. Endit
