Spain "in utmost coordination" to identify plane crash cause: official

Xinhua, May 12, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Spanish government is working "in utmost coordination" to ascertain the cause of Sunday's plane crash in Seville, Spain's Deputy Prime Minister Soraya Saenz de Santamaria said on Monday.

Saenz de Santamaria expressed her support to the families' victims, wishing the injured an early recovery. She expressed her solidarity with the company's workers, who observed on Monday five minutes' silence for the victims of the accident.

Four people were killed and two were seriously injured after an Airbus 400M belonging to the Spanish military crashed on Saturday while practicing take-offs and landings. The Ministry of Defense and Public Works along with the company Airbus have opened an investigation.

Saenz de Santamaria insisted that the government would follow the investigation, highlighting that the project was very important for the country as figures indicated that around 50,000 Spaniards work in Airbus.

Germany, Malaysia, Britain and Turkey stopped flights of Airbus A400M due to the accident until more details about the causes are known. Endit
