Senior leader urges strict Party discipline

Senior leader of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Liu Yunshan reiterated Party officials should apply strict self-discipline and to carry on work style revamp.
Liu, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee's Political Bureau, made the remarks during an inspection tour in central Hunan province from Friday to Monday.
Liu visited local enterprises, rural households and CPC Party schools to learn about grass-root Party building, public education of socialist core values and works of Party schools.
While raising the requirement of applying strict self discipline, Liu said the ongoing campaign to improve the conduct of officials at county-level and above with "strict" and "honest" as key words aimed at spurring up officials to be proactive, enterprising and committed to reforms.
In terms of public education on socialist core values, Liu said Party officials should lead by example, adopt firm beliefs and higher moral standards, and to influence their family members.
While visiting Party schools in Hunan, Liu stressed Party schools must continue in the right direction and strengthen Party members' loyalty and awareness of rules.
In April, China's central authority launched a campaign to improve the conduct of officials, focusing on "three stricts and three honests".
The slogan refers to "be strict in morals, power and self-discipline," along with "be honest in decisions, business and behavior." Enditem
