More than 300 businesses from the DPRK and other countries including China, Russia, Germany, New Zealand, Switzerland, Malaysia, Mongolia and Singapore took part in the exhibit, which closes Thursday.

The merchandise on display covers a broad range of areas such as electronics products, home appliances, cosmetics, food and drinks, medicines, clothing, machines and various vehicles.

Present at the opening ceremony were Vice Premier Ro Tu Chol, Minister of External Economic Relations Ri Ryong Nam, Vice Minister of External Economic Relations O Ryong Chol, and diplomatic envoys and delegations of various countries.

Pak Ung Sik, director of the Korean International Exhibition Corp. The exhibitors will strengthen trade cooperation on the basis of equality and mutual benefit in the following days, they said.

The biannual trade fair, each in spring and autumn, is sponsored by the DPRK's Ministry of External Economic Relations and organized by the KIEC.
