Vietnam tied 0-0 with South Korea in a U-23soccer friendly here on Saturday night.

Vietnam coach Toshiya Miura said before the game that the South Korean team was stronger and the match offered an opportunity to test his tactics.

During the game, both sides squandered several scoring opportunities.

The match was part of Vietnam's preparations for the upcoming 28th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) to be held in Singapore this year.

The Vietnamese U-23 team is scheduled to play another friendly game with their Myanmar counterparts in Vietnam on May 22, according to the Vietnam Football Federation.

Vietnam set a target of entering semis of the 10-team football event at the 28th SEA Games. Vietnam has been drawn alongside Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei, Laos and Timor Leste in Group B, and Singapore, Indonesia, Myanmar, Cambodia and the Philippines are in Group A. Endi
