Xinhua, May 8, 2015 Adjust font size:

Natural disasters left 68 people dead, 4 missing and affected about 9.26 million people across China in April, according to government statistics.

The natural disasters caused 7 billion yuan (about 1.15 billion U.S. dollars) in direct economic losses. More than 47,000 residents were relocated and over 47,000 needed emergency support, the Ministry of Civil Affairs announced Friday.

In addition, 8,000 houses were damaged, it said.

The natural disasters included earthquakes, hail, cold weather, snowstorms, landslides and forest fires.

The Nepal earthquake greatly affected Tibet Autonomous Region, causing fatalities and huge losses to the local economy, according to the authorities. Endit
