Indian stocks close lower

Indian stocks closed lower Thursday with the BSE benchmark index Sensex closing at 26,599.11 points, 118.26 points or 0.44 percent down from the previous close of 26, 717.37 points.

The negative trade came one day after Sensex fell over 720 points Wednesday, described by local traders as a black Wednesday.

Global sell-off, rising oil prices and foreign portfolio investors' selling spree were blamed for the continuous volatility of the Indian market. Endi
