Xinhua, May 7, 2015 Adjust font size:

Mozambique and Turkey are willing to cooperate in the defense sector, according to a communique from the defense ministry on Wednesday.

Mozambican defense minister, Atanasio Mtumuke, is in Turkey since Monday on a working visit. Mtumuke was invited by his Turkish counterpart Ismet Yilmaz.

The communique said that the minister will visit the 12th International Fair of the defense industry under way since Saturday in the Turkish capital Istanbul.

Mozambique and Turkey have no much in cooperation, but since last year and this year, top government officials have visited the Portuguese speaking country to express their willingness to cooperate with Mozambique in many areas, including defense, industry, agriculture, among others.

Mutumuke will hold talks with senior officers in the defense ministry during his stay in Turkey. Mutumuke's delegation includes top officers of the Mozambican Defense Force, according to the communique. Endi
