Five people were killed and 15 others injured in clashes between Libyan army forces and Islamist militias of Libya Dawn in the west of Libya, according to a military source.
"Violent clashes took place between the Libya army and the tribal army against Libya Dawn militias in Al-Agrabia area, 100 km west the capital Tripoli. We managed to progress and force them to retreat," a source in the Libyan army's operation chamber told Xinhua. (Libya-Clashes)

KIEV -- The Ukrainian military said Wednesday that fierce fighting has flared up again in the restive eastern regions ahead of new round of peace talks in Minsk.

KABUL -- A total of 190 Taliban militants have been killed over the past 13 days of heavy fighting in Kunduz province with Kunduz city as its capital, 250 km north of Kabul, while 23 others laid down arms and surrendered on Wednesday, provincial governor Mohammad Omar Safi said.
"The terrorists' attempts to capture Kunduz city have been defeated and the rebels run away after suffering heavy casualties, " Safi said in a press conference Wednesday afternoon here. (Afghanistan-Attack)

KATHMANDU -- The death toll from last Saturday's earthquake in Nepal rose to 7,675 on Wednesday, according to the country's Home Ministry.
"Death toll climbs to 7,675, and a total of 7,583 bodies were handed over; another 16,390 were injured, among them 6,081 were under treatment; 384 people were missing, including 271 Nepalese and 13 foreigners," said the Home Ministry in its latest update on Wednesday evening. (Nepal-Toll)

PARIS -- The co-pilot of the crashed Germanwings flight practiced "several times" the change of altitudes of the plane on the outbound flight from Duesseldorf to Barcelona, investigators said in a report on Wednesday.
According to the preliminary report by the French Bureau of Enquiry and Analysis for Civil Aviation Safety (BEA), the co-pilot Andreas Lubitz set several times the selected altitude of the plane to 100 feet between 07h19 and 07h24 on March 24 on the outbound flight. (France-Germanwings-BEA)
