Myanmar trounces Malaysia 4-0 at AFF Women's Championship

Xinhua, May 6, 2015 Adjust font size:

Myanmar gained their second win at the 2015 AFF Women's Championship, after whitewashing Malaysia 4-0 here on Wednesday.

The two sides were neck-to-neck in the first half. However, within three minutes around the break, Myanmar striker Win Theingi Tun collected a double for her squad.

Two minutes before the break, Win Theingi Tun broke through Malaysia's tight defense and delivered a thunderous shoot to beat Malaysian goalkeeper Asma Junaidi, whose knee was injured before. One minute into the second half, she netted again with a close-range blast.

Fuelled by the two goals, Myanmar players launched more blitz attacks. In the 69th and the 75th minute, Myanmar veteran striker Yee Yee Oo scored twice.

Thailand, Australia U-20, Indonesia, Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar, Malaysia and the Philippines are vying for title of 2015 AFF Women's Championship.

The semifinals will take place on May 8, and the final on May 10. Endi
