Chinese shares close lower Wednesday

Chinese shares tumbled on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down by 1.62 percent to finish at 4,229.27 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index fell 0.68 percent to close at 14,136.17 points.

The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, climbed 2.27 percent to end at 2,846.56 points. Endi
