Chinese VP meets US-China business council members

Xinhua, May 5, 2015 Adjust font size:

Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang called for stronger trade and technological ties between China and the United States as he met with a delegation from the US-China Business Council (USCBC) on Tuesday.

Members of the USCBC board of directors that Wang hosted in Zhongnanhai, the headquarters of the Chinese government, included USCBC President John Frisbie, Praxair CEO Stephen Angel, Dell Chief Commercial Officer Marius Haas and senior executives from Chindex International, Celanese, Goldman Sachs, Cargill and DuPont.

Wang said the USCBS has played an active role in expanding the scale and scope of China-U.S. trade and economic cooperation.

As the Chinese government is working on a new economic system that is more open to the outside world, China-U.S. trade faces broad prospects, he added.

Wang expressed the hope that the USCBC will step up its collaboration with China on trade, the economy and technology in order to contribute to the development of a new type of relations between two major powers. Endi
