Hungarian duo wins modern pentathlon World Cup mixed relay final

The Hungarian duo of Anna Zs. Toth and Adam Marosi won the mixed relay event in modern pentathlon World Cup meet in Kecskemet, Hungary, on Monday, with 1488 points overall.

The Hungarians beat Margaux Isaksen and Nathan Schrimsher of the United States, who finished 2nd with 1483 points, and Sunwoo Kim and Wongtae Jun of South Korea who finished 3rd with 1446 points.

The Hungarians received 250 points for fencing, 345 for swimming, 281 for riding, and 612 for combined event. The point breakdown for the American duo was 252 for fencing, 348 for swimming, 282 for riding, and 601 for the combined. The Korean duo earned 240 points for fencing, 338 for swimming, 273 for riding, and 595 for the combined.

The Australian duo of Chloe Esposito and Max Esposito finished 4th with 1441 points, the Czech team of Natalie Dianova and David Svoboda were 5th with 1434 points, and the Chilean couple, Javiera Rosas and Esteban Bustos were 6th with 1394 points.

In earlier events Valentin Belaud of France won the men's event on Sunday with 1504 points, beating Russia's Ilia Frolov who earned 1495.

The women's final was on Saturday, won by Zsofia Foldhazi of Hungary with 1361 points over Elodie Clouvel of France, who was second with 1358 points.

The World Cup contests will be concluded in Minsk, in June. Endite
