French stock market index up 0.70 pct on Monday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 closed with an advance of 0.70 percent at 5,081.97 points on Monday, up 35.48 points.

Helped by the slight drop of euros against dollars, the CAC 40 closed slightly higher on Monday with 30 of the 40 selected companies gaining advance, while Vivendi stayed the same as previous trading day.

The three companies that gained most on Monday were Veolia Environnement, up 3.33 percent, Technip, up 2.84 percent, and Pernod Ricard, up 2.70 percent.

The three companies whose stocks dropped most on Monday were Alcatel-Lucent, down 1.40 percent, EDF, down 1.10 percent, and GDF Suez, down 0.93 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 closed with an advance of 0.14 percent at 5,046.49 points on Thursday, up 7.1 points. Endit
