Indonesia's foreign holidaymakers up in March

The number of foreign visitors in Indonesia in March scaled up by 3.13 percent to 789,600 on yearly basis, the national statistic bureau announced here on Monday.

In Bali, the center of Indonesia's tourism industry, the number of foreigners visiting the beautiful resort island in March rose by 9.81 percent to 294,758 on year, Suryamin, head of the bureau told a press conference.

The Indonesian government is looking to revive the country's tourism industry by extending free visa facilities to 45 countries.

Under the facility, the government expects to scale up foreign tourist arrivals to 20 million within five years, from 9.44 million in 2014, according to Indonesian Tourism Minister Arif Yahya.
