Death toll from the massive earthquake in Nepal reached 7,240, while the number of injuries stood at 14,122, the Ministry of Home Affairs said on Sunday.

Four persons, including a 105-year-old woman, were rescued alive from the debris of collapsed buildings in Nepal on Sunday, the police said. (Nepal-Quake)

RIYADH -- Saudi Arabia on Sunday denied media reports that troops were deployed to Yemen's Aden to start a ground operation there.

DAMASCUS -- The Syrian army on Sunday wrested back control over an important town in eastern countryside of capital Damascus, cutting a key rebel supply route, according to the official SANA news agency.

The government forces captured town of Maidaa' and its surrounding orchards in east of Damascus, said SANA, adding that the town served as a supply route for rebels between the hotbed towns of Douma and Dumair. (Syria-Army)

ADEN, Yemen -- The Saudi-led coalition forces dispatched its first special unit of ground troops to Yemen's southern port city of Aden on Sunday morning, a Yemeni government official told Xinhua.

"The first Saudi-led coalition troops arrived in Aden and have engaged in the fighting alongside with tribal militia allied with Yemen's President Abdu-Rabbu Mansour Hadi in Aden's neighborhood of KhorMaksar," the senior government official based in Aden said on condition of anonymity.
