German benchmark DAX index recovers slightly

The benchmark DAX index at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Thursday went up slightly and closed at 11,454.38 points.

The blue-chip index recovered slightly by 21.66 points after losing more than 370 points on Wednesday.

The Federal Employment Agency of Germany said on Thursday that the number of unemployed people in Germany was 2.843 million, the lowest in history.

The health care company Fresenius SE & Co. KGaA topped the list of risers with an increase of 4.07 percent. Deutsche Boerse AG advanced by 2.75 percent. Deutsche Post AG gained 1.32 percent. Deutsche Bank AG climbed by 1.02 percent and Commerzbank AG ended one percent higher.

The semiconductor company Infineon Technologies AG lost 2.31 percent. The two utilities company E.ON SE and RWE AG St each dropped by 1.69 percent and 1.04 percent. Continental AG slipped by 1.2 percent and SAP SE went down by 1.01 percent.

The turnover stood at 5.86 billion euros (around 6.46 billion U.S. dollars ). BASF SE was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 643.86 million euros (around 710.08 million U.S. dollars). Endit
