YouTuber Amos Yee back to remand as he breaches bail conditions

Singaporen YouTuber Amos Yee, who posted an online video with offensive remarks on Christianity and the country's former prime minister Lee Kuan Yew, was sent back to remand on Thursday as he breached the bail conditions by updating his blog and Facebook page.

The 16-year-old wrote two blog posts titled "The Ridiculous Terms of My Bail" and "My Abusive Father" on Wednesday and shared them on his Facebook later Thursday morning.

Yee was supposed to attend a pre-trial conference at 3 p.m. on Thursday, but was struck by a middle-aged man on the way to court. The man in a red shirt ran up to the teenager and hit him, while shouting. Then the man ran off. Yee's left eye looked slightly bruised after the attack.

During Yee's pre-trial conference, judge Kessler Soh asked Yee to take down his latest posts, but the teenager who was charged on March 31 refused.

Yee's bailor, family and youth counselor Vincent Law, decided to discharge himself as Yee refused to comply with bail conditions.

Yee's parents were later seen leaving State Courts without their son.

Another pre-trial conference will be held on May 4 again in which a trial date will be picked. Endi
