1st LD: Car bomb rocks S. Afghan town

Casualties were feared Thursday morning after a car bombing shocked Daman district of southern Afghan province of Kandahar, an official source said.
"The blast took place near a security checkpoint at around 10: 30 a.m. (local time). We still cannot provide details on causalities. There is fear of possible causalities," Samim Khpalwak, provincial government spokesman, told Xinhua.
Security forces have cordoned off the area for precautionary measures.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
Earlier on Thursday, seven people, including two policemen, were injured when a bomb attached to a bicycle went off in Kunduz city, the capital of northern Kunduz province. Endi
